Who Is The Holy Spirit?

Sunday June 9th is Pentecost Sunday. It’s is a special time within the body of Christ because it is a time we assemble to remember the when the gift of the Holy Spirit was bestowed upon mankind. However who is the Holy Spirit and why is he so impute the Christian Believer’s life. In this post, we will discuss who the Holy Spirit is and why we as Christians can not neglect this most precious gift.

First Things First

1) The Holy Spirit Is A Member Of The Trinity

When we speak of the Holy Spirit, it is imperative that we understand that He is the third person in the trinity. This means that the Holy Spirit like our heaven father is eternal, divine, and holy. In fact, it can be seen through in book of Genesis that the Holy Spirit was active in the creation process. (Genesis 1:1-2).

2) The Holy Spirit Is A Gift From God

John 14:15-18

15)If you love me, you will keep my commandments. 16)And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, 17) even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. 18) I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

Jesus Christ knew that he would soon be crucified and not to long ascend to his father. Jesus loves his disciples and promised them that he would pray that the Father would send them another Helper. Some translations say comforter. This Helper Of Comforter is the Holy Spirit who continues to comfort and Helps the bien again believe to this day.

Why Do We Need The Holy Spirit?

1) The Holy Spirit Assists Us With Living A Victorious Life

One reason we as believers need the Holy Spirit is because he assists us in our Christian walk. As a. Christian, we should display what is called the Fruit of the Spirit which are Godly characteristics all believers should possess in the Christian walk. By doing so, people should be able to see a difference in our lives, as well as keep us in the right frame of mind.

2) The Holy Spirit Assist Us In ministry.

Acts1:8

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

3) The Holy Spirit Assist Us When We feel we weak.

Romans 8:26

26) Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

In Conclusion

The Holy Spirit, a member of the trinity, is a gift from God given to the church to assist us in our daily lives and to help equip us for the work of the ministry. Let us strive to live a life where we walk in in the Spirit and allow the fruit of the Spirit to operate in our lives all the days of our lives.
